Last Monday we had a boom and bust storm with heavy rain and then some parts also received up to 18" of snow after the changeover with some nice resurfacing from a clipper. Snowmaking temps also returned and terrain is expanding as well as many more ski areas opening for the season.
Today (Friday) temperatures are coming in warmer than when we put out our Weekend Preview on Wednesday, and that will have some effects on surface conditions this weekend in Northern Vermont after the refreeze that I will detail.
Most ski areas will warm above freezing again both Saturday and Sunday and create some hero snow with comfortable temps and it will be a great weekend at many ski areas, though possibly not where everyone flocks to to chase the used pow from earlier in the week. We have some fog Sunday, and also rain starting to creep in on Sunday afternoon, and then there is the fact that "people are a condition" as well, especially where terrain is low and I'm going to dig into all of that that.
BTW, we're gearing up to launch a bunch of new discount partners next week in the Snowology Club which adds value to our subscriptions and allow our Premium Subscribers to ski off their passes and explore! More to come.
