There has been a notable uptick in the wind threat on Monday. It will be widespread and in many cases severe resulting in a significant loss of terrain. Tuesday's wind hold forecast has also been updated but is much less severe in nature. I wanted to send these updates out ASAP instead of waiting on a full storm update covering the backend wind and snow at the same time in order to help planning as there will be plenty of powder hunters out there on Monday.
What's changed is the upper level low that is coming in behind this storm is doing so more slowly than previously modeled and it will pull down some notably powerful wind behind it on Monday with some remaining issues on Tuesday as it pulls away from the Northeast. Monday will be possibly feature the most widespread wind holds we have seen this season.
