Well, the first round came through hotter than coffee in a cheap diner with up to a foot reported at Snow Ridge and likely also McCauley and an overperformance off of Lake Erie, Titus reported 7" and Whiteface 6". In Vermont the wind did shift the snow around more fiercely and reporting was sort of all over the place.
Round #2 is coming up starting tonight and lasting through Thursday morning and I've bumped a LOT, but there will be even more wind to contend with on both Wednesday and Thursday with some solid potential of a number of severe holds in some areas on Wednesday. Never ever just simply hunt the snowfall maps, you will get screwed more often than not because wind loves to come with snow on the Ice Coast, or maybe we should call it the Packed Powder Coast??? Let's take a gander at the broad view to start.
I need to make a couple of corrections from the last Storm Update. Magic of course will in fact open on Thursday after their mid-week closure and that gives another shot at third helpings in this event, and Royal Mountain is actually open on Wednesday due to a school holiday and there's solid opportunity there tomorrow.
I'm going to cut to the chase in this update and first cover the Snowfall Forecast with some notes about travel, and then the Wind Hold Forecast for both Wednesday and Thursday. Keep your eyes peeled for another Storm Update later on for the Friday system, which won't benefit everyone, but it should benefit plenty!
