Weekend Update: Sat-Sun 4/26-27

This week has been a pretty damn good corn-fest so far, but we do have a storm moving through on Saturday with a back end that will have some impacts on Sunday. Don't get too upset though as there seems to be a decent chance of some clearing in parts on Saturday afternoon that back end is currently looking like it will be mostly snow on the mountains and possibly snow above freezing which would be optimal in these conditions. Wind issues? It's possible, but right now my vote is no for both days. Perfect weekend? Nope. Salvageable? Probably, and on both days but not everywhere especially on Saturday. Bring your smiles though because you'll still be skiing and riding.

So here's the broad view from the latest GFS showing 3-hour precipitation intensity covering all of Saturday and Sunday.

We have 7 ski areas across the Northeast that will be operating for the last weekend in April. Currently Stowe and Sugarloaf have the most terrain available, though ungroomed terrain is temperature dependent at this time of the season.

I'm going to cover both Saturday and Sunday individually for subscribers, and given the nature of the storm one or two additional alerts can be expected between Friday evening and Saturday morning to help dial this in.
