SkiEssentials.com of Stowe, VT is the largest snowsports retailer in the Northeast.

SkiEssentials.com Joins the Snowology Club

We're halfway through the doldrums of summer and Snowology is ready to start the countdown to the coming ski season by announcing our first new discount partner in the Snowology Club for the 2024-2025 ski season, and it's a big one! SkiEssentials.com, the largest retailer of skiing and snowboarding equipment in the Northeast, is joining the Snowology Club and will be offering our subscribers savings throughout the season. This is a big deal for Snowology as we are a regionally focused source of weather and news with deep roots in the ski and ride community, and we wanted to KEEP IT LOCAL when it comes to finding a retailer to partner for our community in the Northeast, and we found the biggest and best one in SkiEssentials.com. We have been working on this for quite a while and are very excited to announce this benefit for our subscribers.

SkiEssentials.com got its start 40 years ago as a small tuning shop called Bedside Tuners in Stowe, VT. They became an online retailer in 2004 operating out of the basement of their first brick and mortar store which evolved into Pinnacle Ski and Sports and Inner Bootworks serving the Stowe and Greater Burlington, VT communities as their premier retailer. In 2022 they expanded their physical footprint when they purchased Basin Sports, the oldest and largest snowsports retailer in Killington, VT.

Reviews by Northeast Skiers on Northeast Terrain and Conditions

SkiEssentials.com is best known for their annual Ski Test which has become the benchmark and industry standard for how skis should be evaluated. Rather than providing generic rankings, their reviews focus on the unique characteristics and personality of each ski they test so that individuals can better determine what is right for them. Last season they tested a whopping 425 pairs of skis from 20 different vendors, and when the 2025 Ski Test is launched they will also be reviewing snowboards for the first time featuring an ever-growing list of manufacturers.

The SkiEssentials.com 2024 Ski Test features 425 different skis.

Not only is SkiEssentials.com the leading source of unbiased reviews and a literal encyclopedia of skis, these tests are done by Northeasterners, on Northeast terrain, and in Northeast conditions ranging from Ice Coast hardpack to the bountiful blower pow delivered by the Northern Green Mountains of Vermont. It is not just important to have reviews based on the same conditions that you will experience on the slopes, it's also something we have found our community widely values.

Benefits Exclusively for Snowology Subscribers

The Snowology Club is a perk of Snowology subscriptions with roots that come from our large and vibrant community that we have grown and fostered for what will now be our 7th season. Like all of our other discount partners, our relationship is not a form of sponsorship but rather an extension of our community and a benefit to our subscribers as well as the businesses that participate. We aim to grow awareness and goodwill for these businesses through their participation and value to our subscribers. Last season we had 11 discount partners and we not only expect most to return this coming season, and we are aiming to increase the number to 20; providing 50% discounts on lift tickets and substantial savings on gear. The feedback we received from our subscribers last season was fantastic and we are hopeful that even more of our subscribers will have an opportunity to take advantage of the savings offered this coming season by these ski areas and other businesses.

Starting in September SkiEssentials.com will be providing Snowology subscribers with both broadly-based savings as well as a new special discount every month of the ski season. We will be sending out details every month of the season with a focus on high-interest categories of gear and accessories. Later today subscribers will also receive a special invite to their annual Warehouse Sale this Friday, July 19th, one day before the general public gets access. This will provide our subscribers with a unique opportunity to get first dibs on overstock from prior seasons at significant discounts. So if you are going to be near Stowe, VT on Friday, we'll have a ticket waiting for you!

SkiEssentials.com will also be providing all of the moderators of our former online community, now known as the East Coast Skiing & Riding, with extra special savings out of appreciation for their volunteer efforts over the years to keep the community safe, informative, and fun. Without their help, Snowology would likely not exist today and we are elated to have one of our discount partners recognize their efforts.

We want to send a huge thanks to SkiEssentials.com for joining our club and community, and for welcoming us all into theirs. To say that we are excited would be an understatement!
