Storm Update #4: Sun-Mon 1/25-26

I think we're dialed in and I hope everyone else is. There's a big storm coming if you haven't heard, models are in strong agreement, and we're 'powculating' the results in near-real time on our site.

This honestly isn't that difficult of a storm to forecast, especially at this point. Just the typical variability that narrows as we approach the impacts. Let's not make too much of the process and the bloviations, here's our storm and you should go and ski it!

I'm going to break this down into the Snowfall Forecast (plus some sleet), and the Travel Forecast. At this moment the wind hold threat on Tuesday seems to diminish before open so we'll skip that. I will however start with an announcement of new functionality that people have been asking for!

I'm also sending this out late Saturday night to subscribers instead of waiting until the morning when we share the post on social media.

Daily Powculator Precipitation Breakdown Launches Tonight!

Luis has been hard at work to rush this out for this storm. Unless we run into an unexpected issue (they do happen), sometime late Saturday night we will launch the daily Powculator which gives a breakdown of precipitation in 3-hour blocks. This is subscriber-only functionality and you must be logged into our site to see it.

We'll announce the launch during daytime hours though but you can check our site and if you see the down arrows next to the daily summaries, that means it has been launched.

We will be sprucing this up a bit more after launch and adding hourly weather summaries for every hour of the day likely sometime during next week. Our pace of development is extremely fast now that we hit our stride and build the right foundation, and there is so much more to come step by step.

We are going to revolutionize ski weather coverage, in fact I think we already are!
