Weekend Update: Sat-Sun 3/7-8

I have some updates for the forecasts on Saturday and Sunday that should help dial in the forecast and also increase confidence in guidance. This is an addendum to the fuller outlook issued on Thursday.

Saturday we're dealing with some freezing mist overnight that could foul lifts in Northern New England, then some r@!n, freezing r@!n and drizzle during the ski day, some wind holds are expected especially in the PM and there are some morning fog concerns that could affect your drive and part of the ski day.

Sunday we have a possible small batch of lighter precipitation in the morning up north and some pretty severe winds that are modeled to let up starting around open that could cause some lift delays of 1-4 hours depending on the location and lift. High winds overnight will also likely firm up the wet mushy groomers before open and that could also lead to some terrain holds in the AM.

Although I'm not covering Monday in this update we may have some isolated wind issues on Monday in northern areas due to southerly winds again.

We may have lucked out from not getting a big dump of r@!n during ski hours, but there's a little bit of everything to contend with, especially in Northern New England this weekend.

If you want some good news, I have some of that too. There is a possibility of snow in the northern areas on Wednesday and Thursday and the Powculator is already picking up on that possibility. This also means the boundary is pushing further south and that will keep the push of warm air at bay so the worst of the melting may be limited primarily south of the Albany, NY latitude for this warm up.
