Well, the northwest flow is about to take a little break and we have 3 or 4 storm events through Sunday, some to look forward to, some not so much. Let's shoot right into the broad view from the latest run of the GFS showing 6-hour precipitation intensity from Tuesday through Sunday.

I'm going to summarize this by event in chronological order:
Monday AM through Tuesday AM: The last in our series of weak shortwaves coming through the northwest flow will drop 1"-4" with most of the snow in New England coming after close today. The abnormally cold temps in the northern half of the region will depart with this storm.
Tuesday PM through Wednesday AM: A weak storm will bring mixed precipitation to the region with the ADKs and Northern Vermont likely to stay all snow but some r@!n and mixing elsewhere. Up to 6" is expected from this system with some limited wind issues around Wildcat and the Longfellows possible on Thursday but currently unlikely. Back end snow might stick around the Northern Greens and Northern Whites until Thursday morning.
Friday: A week cutter will move up through the Great Lakes putting us on the warm side of the precip though the Whites and Longfellows might battle a bit of freezing r@!n during the ski day while everyone else at least transitions to r@!n. Generally 1/4" to 1" of the wet stuff is expected on ski mountains through the end of Friday. Some isolated wind holds with southerly flow are possible during the day.
Saturday & Sunday : Some r@!n may lag in parts of Southern New England, NJ, and PA during Saturday behind the Friday storm however this is still funky enough in the models that it may not happen. Models are also playing around with a second system forming on the long tail of the Friday storm that could become anything between a coastal storm or a cutter, and it might not even materialize. Modeling is untrustworthy at this range in this setup.
I'm going to dig a bit deeper into the action through Friday for Subscribers and leave the digging into what happens after the Friday storm for another update when clarity starts to evolve.
