We took another beating on Monday with a massive cutter and then a flash freeze. Between the previous week and then this storm that caused many ski areas in Pennsylvania to close for the season however most in the rest of the region are holding on strong, in fact we had at least 15 different ski areas light up their guns to beef up their bases, cover the gnar, and extend their seasons. Here's a list of everyone we found:
✅ Camelback, PA
✅ Montage, PA
✅ Blue Mountain, PA
✅ Holiday Valley, NY
✅ Kissing Bridge, NY
✅ Royal Mountain, NY
✅ Plattekill, NY
✅ Windham, NY
✅ Mount Southington, CT
✅ Berkshire East, MA
✅ Stratton, VT
✅ Magic Mountain, VT
✅ Killington, VT
✅ Smugglers' Notch, VT
✅ Black Mountain, NH
March is typically a tricky month with periods warmth, r@!n, and cold making the conditions vary widely by day, but we can also get some snow and in fact that's really the biggest story for this weekend is two sliders, one coming through starting Friday afternoon, and then another starting Sunday morning. Let's look at the broad view from the latest GFS showing these two systems from Friday through Sunday.

I'm going to split this up into two parts associated with the storms, first covering the Friday & Saturday Forecast, and then the Sunday & Monday Forecast. Subscribers should monitor the precipitation and temperatures on our website through the Weather section as we will see some firm conditions in the mornings and in most cases where things might be icy to start they will soften up by the afternoon. Generally we expect this north of the Albany, NY latitude while those south will have either no freeze or soft freezes that won't cause many issues.
