The last week has been largely phenomenal somewhere in the Northeast every day, but not everywhere every day of course. We saw as many as 20" of snow in some far northern areas as the boundary between cold and warm air (some of it very warm) was persistently draped over the region with the corn growing to the south. Today that changed with everyone warming up, and tonight everyone will also get wet before cold temps return, and by Saturday morning every ski area in the Northeast will refreeze and only a small handful will soften during the day but on Sunday the warm air will start pushing north again providing a lot more opportunity for appropriately soft conditions for this time of the season.
Let's start out with the broad view of the GFS covering Friday through Monday to get this going.

We're only expecting 3" or less at most from the cold side of this frontal passage so this update will focus on the Temperature Forecast and surface conditions for the 4 day weekend period. Since that won't take too long I'll also cover the active Weather Outlook for the following week.
